Uncovered - Police on the Trail of Brand Counterfeiters
A 26-year-old is likely to have to face court soon for professionally trading counterfeit branded goods. Investigators from Hamburg’s white-collar crime squad had the man in their sights via a well-known social network where he was selling counterfeits on a large scale. During the search, an entire store including an external warehouse with fake products was discovered right in the heart of the Hanseatic city – including interested customers and an employed salesperson! According to the police, the quantities of counterfeit brand clothing and shoes found were so large that a twelve-ton truck and an additional five-ton truck were required for removal.
Cases like this once again illustrate how brazenly brand counterfeiters act. This makes it all the more important to take rigorous action against these criminal gangs – coupled with professionally positioned and effective product and brand protection – to put a stop to counterfeiters.
